‘White House Physician Releases Trump Health Update

President Donald Trump remains in “excellent health” and is fully capable of serving as commander in chief, according to a medical report released after a comprehensive examination at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center. The report, prepared by Dr. Sean Barbabella, detailed an extensive evaluation that included a CT scan, advanced cardiac imaging, cancer screenings, and numerous preventive health assessments performed by a team of 22 specialists.

Doctors concluded that Trump is in strong physical condition and fully able to perform the responsibilities of the presidency. During the examination, he weighed 238 pounds, up 14 pounds from his April 2025 physical. Physicians recommended continued attention to diet, exercise, and weight management but emphasized that his overall health remains strong. At 6 feet 3 inches tall, his body mass index (BMI) measured 29.7, placing him just below the medical threshold for obesity.

The report also noted minor bruising on Trump’s hands, describing it as soft tissue irritation caused by frequent handshaking and the effects of aspirin therapy. Doctors recommended switching to a low-dose aspirin regimen. Trump’s previously disclosed chronic venous insufficiency, which can cause swelling in the legs, showed improvement compared to last year’s examination, although slight lower-leg swelling remained.

According to Dr. Barbabella, Trump’s cardiac, pulmonary, neurological, and overall physical evaluations produced no abnormal findings. The physician also noted that the president’s demanding schedule of meetings, public appearances, and regular physical activity contributes positively to his overall well-being.

Trump also completed the Montreal Cognitive Assessment, a widely used screening test for cognitive impairment, earning a perfect score of 30 out of 30. The result matched his previous publicly reported scores from 2025 and 2018.

The report highlighted notable improvements in Trump’s cholesterol levels, with total cholesterol dropping from 223 in 2018 to 143. Doctors credited medications including rosuvastatin and ezetimibe for helping reduce LDL cholesterol while improving overall cardiovascular health.

The medical evaluation marks the fourth publicly released health assessment since Trump returned to office for his second term. While U.S. presidents are not legally required to disclose detailed medical records, such reports have traditionally attracted significant public attention. Trump, who turns 80 next month, was the oldest person elected president at the time of his election.

His predecessor, Joe Biden, left office at age 82 after ending his 2024 reelection campaign amid public concerns about his age and fitness. Biden endorsed then-Vice President Kamala Harris after withdrawing from the race, while debates over presidential health and transparency continued to be a major issue in American politics.
