An unverified report circulating online Monday has sparked speculation about President Donald Trump’s upcoming primetime address to the nation.
The claim, which has not been confirmed by the White House or any federal agency, alleges Trump could make a significant announcement involving Georgia’s two Democratic U.S. senators. According to the report, which cites a “well-placed source in Georgia,” the president is expected to declare that Sens. Jon Ossoff and Raphael Warnock are “illegitimate because of fraud” during his nationally televised speech on Thursday evening.
As of now, neither President Trump nor the White House has verified the claim, and no official agenda for the address has been released. The report remains unconfirmed.
Trump announced Monday on Truth Social that he would deliver a national address at 9 p.m. Eastern on Thursday but did not reveal the subject. Separately, CNBC, citing an MSNBC NOW report based on two unnamed White House officials, said the speech is expected to focus on newly declassified intelligence regarding alleged foreign efforts to interfere in the 2020 presidential election. Those reports made no mention of Ossoff or Warnock.
If the online claim proves accurate, it would coincide with the Trump administration’s renewed attention to allegations surrounding Georgia’s 2020 election. Federal authorities have reopened investigations into aspects of the state’s election administration, including ballot handling and other procedures that officials say deserve additional review. Democratic leaders continue to reject those efforts, maintaining that Georgia’s election results were validated through recounts, audits, and court rulings.
Ossoff and Warnock, whose 2021 runoff victories gave Democrats effective control of the U.S. Senate, responded Monday to reports about Trump’s upcoming speech. Ossoff accused the president of reviving election claims that have already been challenged, while Warnock argued that Georgia voters would not be intimidated by renewed political attacks.
Earlier this year, FBI agents searched Fulton County’s election warehouse as part of a federal investigation examining alleged deficiencies in the county’s handling of the 2020 election. County officials have denied any wrongdoing and continue to contest parts of the investigation in court.
Until President Trump delivers his address or the White House releases additional details, there is no official confirmation that Thursday’s speech will include any declaration regarding Georgia’s senators. If the issue is addressed, any statements and supporting evidence presented are expected to face immediate scrutiny from lawmakers, election officials, and legal experts.
